"Uncharted"

So the adventure I have embarked on since I have been back in the metro Detroit area has been such a positive journey. Who knew when I made the trip to Los Angeles that I would leave and return home with such a gift. I have always been a creative and artistic person and I have always enjoyed the company of people, but the magic it brings to pull these two things together has been remarkable. Yes, what I do in simplest terms is Face Painting, but the heart I have within me and the knowledge I have been taught and placed in my hands, makes my talent like no other. I am like no one else, and I am special and I think that  is very important for every person to find.  I may just be a guy who paints a mustache on your kid, but I am also a man who is passionate and happy with the choices I have been given and the opportunity to choose a road that many are unable to walk! I have my Family, my past co-workers, my friends, and the opportunities given to me by strangers to thank. They have helped the budding success I have had in such a short time here in this little town of Livonia.

Big News

So the big announcement is I will be going to the Canterlot Gardens, Ohio's premiere convention for fans of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Built for pony fans by pony fans. I will be painting there doing pony faces of course and cutie marks(which are the little symbols tattooed on their butts). :) I am so excited to be involved not only with an amazing franchise but to reach more people with my painting then ever before.

I am so happy to finally have all my supplies. I have been taking advantage of having beautiful little sisters by trying to paint at least one new face a day. They have become my little models. I hope to use them and some other children to build my book and sign. Both are very important to the process of what I do. When someone approaches me for a face painting I want them to have choices. Of course if they have something specific in mind I'm always up for the challenge. But the purpose of this sign is for a adult/child to see what i am capable of and have many options.  The book is a replica of the sign for me. I use this to confirm their choice and also as a guide if I'm swamped or want to get as close to the pic as possible. Every human face is different so every design will always look a little different. Below is just a couple of examples of some of the faces I hope to sell.

I also received my business cards this week. They were created on Moo.com and are amazing. Below is a pic of what the cards look like.  I am so lucky to have such an amazing sister who is acting as my Marketing Manager.  She has gone above and beyond for her bro. I love her dearly and I hope one day I will be able to return the favor.  She also has a an amazing blog about one of her passions, check it out here!

Please if you would like one, let me know I have a lot and want to get the word out there about Structured Faces. Weekends are being booked in September, so please don't let the opportunity for Structured Faces to make your event one to remember pass you by!

Till next time my Structured Faces.

Someone That I Used to Know.

Today was like being reintroduced to an old friend. I received the last of the supplies I needed to face paint properly. Just in time too, because yours truly has a couple gigs lined up :).

The most recent is VBS Sky Family Night 2012! It is an Event for a local Vacation Bible School. Their theme is Sky, so I will have to come up with some fun planes, birds, and butterfly designs. I also have a couple gigs in September, but I will discuss those as they get closer.

Some other exciting news is that my market manager and I got the logo ironed out. As you can see below.
We also have a business card and some flyers being sent my way. My Marketing Manager is amazing! If you haven't noticed the updates to my Structured Faces FB page you should check them out. Everything is clean and very professional looking. I am really happy with the progress and I'm super excited to get out there and start marketing myself within the community.
Now that I have the tools all I  need are the gigs.
I will be hosting an event at my home very soon to get some professional photos of models with my face painting. I think it is always important to have something to show a client. My Face is fine and all but no one wants to see a butterfly face on a grown man ;)
Anyway that is about it for now. I will have much more to tell in the next couple of days if things pan out the way I hope.

Till then my Structured Faces.

"The Beginning"

Welcome back, I have so much to tell you. I have been working around the clock to get this little business up and running, and with every new day there is something learned and some new idea to share. I have been sketching new face ideas that im excited to show you, but you will have to wait for that. Also my "Facebook Business" page is up you can view it  HERE

Today I spent the day running errands for supplies. (Thanks Dollar Tree) I followed that with a great brain storming session with my marking manager. We worked on a logo for Structured Faces. The Logo is still in the beginning stages, but here is a rough look of what it will look like.

It is so exciting to see things coming together. To be honest there hasn't been much in life that I could be passionate about and also receive an income for, but this new venture has truly made me very happy. The idea of doing what i love and sharing that experience is truly the best feeling. The smile you see on my face today wears many names; Hope, Pride, Happiness, and Love. May sound cheesy, but that's the kinda guy I am.

Till next time my Structured Faces.

The Start of Somthing New.

Structured Faces is back, and with that a lot of changes. I no longer work for a face painting company, but I'm venturing off on my own. Back home living in Michigan, I plan to take what I have learned in Los Angeles and apply it to my own face painting business. I have already started booking gigs which is amazing because I have only been back a little over a week.

So the plan now it to get the supplies I need and begin marketing myself.

Coming soon...
Look for my own Website
A Business Face Book Page

I hope your ready and excited, because I am!
